ASIC FPGA Engineer
Bloomington, MN
Contract Position
$58.48-$63.48/Hour
Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.
Responsibilities:
- Define, design, verify, and document ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) and FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) developments.
- Determine architecture, system simulation, and detailed design approaches for devices.
- Define module interfaces and oversee all aspects of device design and simulation.
- Evaluate design processes, including high-level design, synthesis, place and route, timing, and power utilization.
- Create and execute test and simulation plans to establish and verify functional criteria.
- Review vendor capabilities, foundry technologies, device libraries, and simulation tools.
- Analyze test results and device performance for functional and design validation.
- Adapt quickly to new information and independently manage complex assignments with minimal direction.
Qualifications:
Education:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus 2+ years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree.
Clearance:Active Secret Clearance required.
Experience and Skills:
- Strong knowledge of ASIC/FPGA concepts, engineering processes, and design tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ASIC/FPGA-specific tools.
- Understanding of earned value management, cost account management (CAM), and variance report generation.
- Ability to analyze and report relevant design information.
- Creative thinking and multitasking abilities.
- Effective communication of technical issues and solutions to stakeholders.
- Awareness of technology trends and business objectives within engineering disciplines.
