L3Harris is seeking a Process Engineer at our Orlando, FL location. This role is generally responsible for Process Engineering activities of development and production Programs by applying engineering and quality procedures to support hardware requirements to assure that delivered products conform to contractual and company requirements.
Essential Functions:
- 30 - Production Operations Support
- Observe and monitor the status of Work-In-Process (WIP) periodically each work day in each work area.
- Respond to urgent and important production events in a timely manner including non-conformances, in-process approvals, and Process Plan corrections or updates.
- Provide clarification and training to Technicians and inspectors to accomplish pertinent processes.
- Interface with and direct technicians and other operations personnel
- 40 - Manufacturing Process
- Lead elements of the manufacturing process including development of manufacturing processes, tooling, procedures and production layouts with respect to the design, build and test of product.
- Estimates and tracks manufacturing costs with program management
- Provide and implement continuous improvement ideas to drive out waste while increasing safety, quality and efficiency.
- Lead root cause and corrective action processes
- 30 - Design Engineering Support
- Collaborate and support design engineering, analysis, program management and IPT leads, process development
- Review and provide feedback on Design Engineering designs from a Process Engineering perspective.
- Coordinate initiation of Design Engineering Changes based on issues encountered in Production.
- Ability to obtain a US security clearance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 4 prior process engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior process engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior process engineering experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Bachelor’s of Science in Aerospace, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering is desired.
- Knowledge base of some or all of the following: circuit boards, electrical wiring, metal fabrication and/or aerospace related assembly and integration processes is desired.
- General engineering background and knowledge of quality engineering principles.
- Analytical and problem solving skills to interpret and evaluate data and processes.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Ability to operate effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to apply and interpret geometric dimensioning, technical drawings, tolerances and specifications.
- Ability to use a variety of measuring and test equipment.
- Ability to use various computer systems to produce spreadsheets, reports, and data analysis.
- Lean Six Sigma experience.
- AS9100 or ISO9001 QMS experience.
- Experience working on hardware in a Government contract environment.
- Experience working in a proof of design/proof of manufacturing environment and/ or new product introduction experience.
- 3-D modeling experience.
