Aviation Software requires comprehensive testing to ensure safety and to meet flight certification standards. Help Joby Aviation achieve software certification by testing the Embedded C/C++ code that controls vehicle flight and system monitoring. Responsibilities
In this role you will work with a range of software, processor in the loop, and hardware in the loop simulators representative of the eVTOL system. Design, execute and maintain test cases, test reports, and supporting documentation for software certification and validation purposes. Become a Software Verification product expert on flight-critical software components and own the testing process. Additionally, you will use automated UI testing tools to automate testing of the system’s ground control software.
Required
- BS or MS in a STEM field and demonstratable experience in Quality Assurance or Test Engineering with a focus on Low-level Embedded software verification.
- Python programming proficiency.
- Demonstrated development of GUI automation tests.
- Prior background in Software Test and Verification, able to perform and analyze the results from safety critical testing of the C/C++ code on embedded systems at the driver, class and abstraction layer level.
- Development, execution and reporting of test cases and a desire to develop towards a programming role that would allow automated testing on embedded devices.
- Reporting of defects, code coverage and other quality metrics

- DO-178C Software Certification.
- Project management, bug tracking and continuous integration tools, e.g JIRA, Jenkins, Team City.
- Agile software development, Unit Testing and Test Driven Development.
- Matlab/Simulink and similar mathematics tools
- Robotics Project(s) and/or Drone experience.
- Piloting aircraft, avionics hardware, electric cars or similar systems.
- Test Complete automation tool proficiency.
- Interfacing with embedded software and electronic hardware.

Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay, bonus, and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $67,300 - $89,700/yr. The compensation package offered will be determined by location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
