Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Manufacturing Engineer. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.
What You’ll Get To Do:
The selected candidate will join the Launch Support System team as the lead manufacturing engineer. Responsibilities include:
Author & create Product Release Documents (PRD), Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM), Work Instructions, PPP, & BTP packages.
Work with and coordinate with Global Supply Chain to move installation packages and related engineering documents through process flow to drive material procurement.
Assist in peer reviews of design releases to ensure first time quality.
Interface with cross functional internal & external teams and stakeholders critical to system deployment and installation.
Oversee and track progress in an agile based work environment.
Author and assist in the creation of comprehensive & detailed work instructions for multiple system locations supporting system deployment and success.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications: 8 Years of experience with a Bachelors in Science; 6 Years with a Masters; 4 Years with a PhD. 4 Years of relevant experience may be used in addition in lieu of formal degree.
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
Excellent understanding & knowledge of engineering releases & supporting documentation needed for material procurement.
Experience authoring/peer reviewing comprehensive and detailed work instructions.
Proficient using MES, Rose, CPLM, NX, or other related tool suites supporting manufacturing engineering.
Strong understanding and experience with both mechanical & electrical drawings.
Demonstrated experience working in a Model Based Manufacturing digital environment
Experience using Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS-Project)
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have: Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in STEM or an engineering discipline such as Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, etc.
Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance awarded or reviewed in the last 6 years
Experience working design into production and deploying engineering solutions to the field
An understanding of Manufacturing Readiness Assessment’s and establishing Manufacturing Readiness Levels per DoD customer requirements
Prior experience developing and designing tooling for field work and installations
Experience resolving manufacturing process issues & training operators on a new process
Experience in agile environment leveraging Jira & Confluence.
Experience with ICBM Weapon Systems, Missile/Rocket Systems, or DOD programs
Salary Range: $107,800 - $161,800
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
