Full-Time with an ESOP Contractor Onsite in Huntsville, AL
Schedule: 9x80 Position is off-post, not Redstone Arsenal
Software Engineer to assist the integration, testing, and sustainment of software solutions across Ground Midcourse Defense Weapon System (GWS) platforms. This role works closely with software developers, systems engineers, test teams, and cybersecurity partners to help ensure software components function together as intended and meet program requirements
Responsibilities:
- Support integration of software components across subsystems in development and test environments
- Assist with software builds, configuration, and release activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve integration issues
- Support execution of integration and system-level test events
- Review interface definitions and system documentation to support integration activities
- Document integration procedures, issues, and resolutions
- Follow established program processes, configuration management, and quality standards
- Attain/Maintain CompTIA Security+ certification and continuation education training requirements for a privileged user account
- Support daily Scrum meetings
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Active Secret Clearance is required
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and 5+ years of experience (Or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience)
- Must be able to obtain a CompTIA Security+ certification and continuation education training requirements for a privileged user account
- Hands-on experience with software integration of multiple components into a unified system
- Experience with Windows and Linux system administration
- Experience writing installation manuals and technical integration documentation
- Develop scripts in Bash, C Shell, Python and work within the Atlassian toolset (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, GIT, Jenkins and Artifactory)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of the GSS Launch Management Systems interface and concept of operations
- Experience with Ansible Automation Platform, including Ansible Tower
- Familiarity with Java and object-oriented software development
- Ability to read and troubleshoot application source code, ASCII logs, and XML logs
- Ability to perform basic SQL operations in MySQL environments
- Active CompTIA Security+ Certification (or equivalent IAT Level II per DoD 8570.01M)
