Position Summary:
Based in Parker Chomerics Shanghai R&D center. This R&D center is responsible for global products development of Chomerics business unit.
The position provides clear technical guidance and professional understanding of the electrically conductive composite materials: binders, fillers (particle/filler morphology, packing and dispersion) and processing. He/she focuses on new product development and technology development and also expand the technical capabilities to support business growth. Key products are electrically conductive materials, including FIP, elastomer, adhesive, and plastics. Key applications are EMI shielding, electrically conductive, glue, and wave absorption.
Scope/Supervision and Interaction:
Reports to Division R&D Manager.
Interacts with global RD, sales, application, quality, production, process, and PLM etc.
Interface with outside suppliers and customers, distributors and business partner.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibility:
- Follow internal project management process, independently lead team members and cross-functional teams on new product development (i.e. formulation design of experiment, testing and analysis, raw material selection).
- Support production, supply chain and quality team on relevant process optimization, supplier qualification, and customer complain resolving.
- Hands on and supervise technicians on scientific and analytical approaches to product development.
- Provide effective project management to team-based product development efforts: project reporting and documentation, regular update the project/product development progress with regional and global team members.
- Lead effective product development based on deep understanding of spanet and customer needs collected through communication with internal and external customers. Key products are electrically conductive materials, including FIP, elastomer, and plastics.
- Monitor and keep track of the new technologies. Analyze and brief the spanet/product trend to management team on regular basis to support the business growth and strategic positioning.
- Provide coach and training to junior engineers in RD, production and application team.
- Lead technology cooperation with global team to leverage and share spanet intelligence.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in chemical sciences or materials technology or relevant areas, with more than three years relevant work experience. Or master’s degree with over five years relevant work experience.
Deep knowledge on filled systems (elastomers, FIP, glue, plastics, or super concentrated system).
Deep knowledge on filler surface treatment and silicone chemistry.
Proved track record in formulation development or process optimization for elastomers, adhesives, silicones, epoxy, urethanes, or plastics is preferred.
Demonstrate creativity, technical analysis and summary, effective organization and communication.
Demonstrate quick learning ability.
- Open minded, team cooperation and results oriented.
Great English both oral and in written.
