Role Purpose

To provide aircraft engineering development and service engineering support in the field of operations engineering for the MAB fleet and for MAB as a Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO).

Key Accountabilities

  • Undertake Aircraft Mass and Balance responsibilities for MAB and MAB as CAMO in accordance with CAAM CAD6805 and the MAB Mass and Balance Programme Document (MBPD). This includes aircraft weighings, Mass and Balance Reports (MBR), Mass and Centre of Gravity Schedule (MCGS), production of Load and Trim worksheets, AHM565, AMADEUS WBS approval, and approval of station EDP/DCS computerised loadsheets and cumulative mass records following modification embodiment.
  • Review and develop fleet Minimum Equipment List (MEL) documents; ensure MELs are updated as mandated by CAAM regulations. Review operational documentation revisions such as AFM and FCOM to ensure they reflect modifications (SBs) and manufacturer updates. Review and revalidate Operations Specifications Specific Approvals (SPA), including RVSM, RNP, BRNAV, PRNAV, PBN, AUTOLAND, EFB, PBCS, and EDTO.
  • Prepare guidance, procedures, and performance data in the Operations Manuals for each aircraft type, relevant to applicable departure, destination, and alternate airports (e.g., takeoff performance charts), for use by flight operations across the entire MAS fleet.
  • Provide 24/7 technical assistance to Engineering, Flight Operations, MASkargo, Aerodarat, and Airport Services regarding Operations Engineering matters such as dangerous goods regulations, live animal regulations, high terrain oxygen requirements, payload analysis, aircraft ACN/PCN, and EOSID.
  • Manage implementation of requirements from airworthiness directives and notices from FAA, EASA, RLD, and CAAM related to the Flight Manual, MEL, Aircraft Performance, and Mass and Balance.
  • Review and develop Flight Test schedules and participate in HMV and Maintenance Check Flights as required by CAAM, CAMO, Flight Operations, and AMM. Coordinate or lead technical discussions with vendors, airlines, airworthiness authorities, and other MAS departments concerning test flights, PTF, and other assignments aimed at improving MAB fleet reliability and performance.
  • Conduct aircraft fuel mileage reporting using the Aircraft Performance Monitoring program; investigate high fuel burn cases and recommend appropriate maintenance actions.
  • Update the Flight Planning Flight Following (FPFF) system with MEL and airport data. Maintain the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB), including iPad, OPT, Flysmart, and NSS/OIS Onboard Performance Tools related to Aircraft Performance, Mass and Balance, MEL, and AFM.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Mechanical (Aeronautical) Engineering.
    Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Technical Services Engineer with well-rounded technical knowledge of the MAB fleet.
  • Other Requirements:
    CAAM-authorised Mass and Balance Approval Holder.
    Must have at least 4 years of experience approving/issuing Technical Documents issued by Operations Engineering.

  • Technically well-versed with the MAB fleet.
  • Experienced in operations engineering, technical support, and maintenance issues.
  • Familiar with company standard operating procedures and organisational structure for seamless communication and coordination.
  • Capable of providing support and resolution 24/7/365 at a moment’s notice.
