Job Summary:
The Electrical Engineer is a key member of a cross-disciplinary team driving the design, development and execution of the pilot control, actuation systems and cockpit solutions program for the next generation of military and commercial aircraft. The Electrical Engineer works on the development of new products, and the improvement and sustainment of products. Engineering duties will span the entire product lifecycle, from initial design and requirements capture through manufacture and field support.

Essential Job Functions:

•tProduct design includes Electrical Requirements Capture, Digital Design, High Power Design, Analog Design, Schematic Capture, PCB layout, Technical Reviews, Requirements Verification, FAA/EASA Certification.

•tPerform operational, maintenance, or testing procedures for electronic products, components, equipment or systems.

•tPerform root cause investigations on new development and fielded products.

•tProduce engineering estimates for individual tasks up to complete electronic designs.

•tReview customer specifications and statement of work to ensure overall technical compliance of products to requirements and/or note exceptions.

•tDesign new products and modify existing products to support customer, manufacturing, regulatory, industry standard, and spanet requirements.

•tCreate and review detailed technical justification demonstrating that the designs are reliable and safe within a particular operating environment.

•tProvide support and relevant documentation to the other engineering teams (such as software, mechanical, and materials) to develop and modify new and existing products.

•tPerform product troubleshooting and lab testing.

•tCoordinate and support prototype manufacturing of new designs.

•tPrepare, review, and approve documentation, test procedures, etc. to define and validate designed products.

•tParticipate in and lead multi-discipline design reviews both internally with peers and externally with customers.

•tEvaluate design changes for impact to product design, cost, and schedule.

•tWill be an integral member of program Change Control Boards (CCB) to review the preparation of documentation with the end goal of system qualification and product certification.

•tProvide technical support, interact and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, quality, testing, program management, suppliers and customers to resolve problems and implement solutions.

•tDemonstrate an understanding of internal processes and methods and tools. Ensures work complies to company policies and processes.

•tOther Duties may be assigned.
Job Requirements:

In addition to the above, they will have significant knowledge of products, systems, sub-systems and applicable regulatory requirements for programs of highly complex systems. Will be a specialist in a specific area, and knowledgeable in two or more product lines. Serve as lead for highly complex systems. Create solutions that can be applied to the product line in its entirety. Perform at an advanced level, provide estimates for standard tasks and discuss technical topics with company executives and customers. May represent the company as an expert at both internal and external program reviews. Will demonstrate the ability to execute all tasks with minimal oversight. Will gain MRB approval and will be able to judiciously use this authority in alignment with company policy. Communicate solutions and ideas with external customers and suppliers; oversee and provide guidance and mentoring. Develop knowledge of spanet competition and provide input to the business unit spanet product strategies. Develop technical & product roadmaps and competitive assessments in area of expertise. Mentor teams on the utilization of internal processes, methods, and tools for systems development and documentation efforts. Utilize and set expectations for the application of internal processes, methods and tools for hardware development and documentation efforts.

Required Competencies:
1. Education/Experience:
•\tBachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited course of study or related field required.
•\tExperience as an Electrical Engineer.
•\tTypical experience: 8 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•\tMust be a self-directed individual requiring minimal supervision.
•\tDemonstrated ability to think critically, identify root cause and propose effective solutions.
•\tUnderstands and is proficient with project management, engineering documentation requirements, and engineering analysis tools.
•\tKnowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
•\tKnowledge of industry and regulatory standards, policies, and compliance requirements.
•\tKnowledge or experience in aerospace, electrical, or mechanical systems.
•\tUnderstands the safety and environmental implications of architecture decisions required for aerospace applications.
•\tAbility to work closely with internal and external customers at engineering and management levels with minimum supervision.
•\tExperience presenting technical plans or speaking on technical topics to project teams, customers or other groups as required.
•\tExperience with Aerospace Safety Critical Hardware Design including DO-254 and DO-160 best practices.
•\tAbility to understand circuit function from schematics.
