Design Engineer - Direct Opportunity – Shape the Future of Advanced Aircraft InnovationMake an Impact in a High Visibility Engineering Role
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Design Engineer (Direct Hire) to support a leading organization in the aviation industry. In this full-time, onsite role based in Wichita, you will play a critical role in resolving complex design challenges, supporting aircraft modifications, and contributing to cutting edge engineering projects that push the boundaries of innovation.
What You’ll DoAs a Design Engineer, you will be an essential part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for developing engineering solutions that support aircraft production, flight test, and special mission modifications. Your daily contributions will include:
Investigating design and build issues to develop structural engineering and instrumentation installation solutions.
Authoring temporary engineering instructions to resolve build issues quickly and accurately.
Dispositioning aircraft non-conformances (MRB), including developing rework instructions.
Coordinating with cross-functional teams including Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and other engineering disciplines.
Designing flight test engineering change requests and collaborating with work package owners.
Creating engineering documentation to define structural special instructions or restrictions.
Designing and releasing structural and systems installations for special missions programs.
Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering (or related discipline).
Minimum 10 years of industry experience.
Minimum 20,000 hours of CATIA V5 experience.
Proficiency with CATIA V5 Workbenches: Assembly Design, Part Design (Boolean Operations), Aerospace Sheetmetal.
Experience supporting manufacturing and aircraft modifications.
Experience leading a team of engineers.
Special Missions or Afterspanet modifications experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred QualificationsProficiency in Tubing Design, Kinematics, and Electrical Harness Routing.
Experience using ENOVIA LCA or Teamcenter PLM.
Experience with Siemens NX.
Additional aircraft or manufacturing experience.
