Satellite AIT Electrical Systems Engineer
Location: Stevenage (100 onsite, some UK travel)
Contract: 12-month contract
Rate: 41.10/hour PAYE (47.07/hour incl. holiday) or 55/hour Umbrella

About the role
Electrical Systems Test Engineer within spacecraft AIT. You will prepare, debug and execute automated system test sequences on flight hardware and benches, support anomaly investigations, contribute to NRB/TRB reviews, and generate the associated test documentation across ambient and environmental test campaigns.
What you’ll do
- Derive and implement test procedures and automated sequences from system specs
- Execute and debug complex test sequences on spacecraft/benches (CCS environment)
- Provide first-line technical support to test ops during execution & anomaly events
- Participate in test readiness/post-test reviews & non-conformance reviews (NRBs)
- Support functional & performance testing in environmental campaigns (TVAC, EMC, etc.)
- Write test reports, close-out documentation and feed into review boards
- Interface with AIT, design, quality and EGSE teams across the project lifecycle
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years in spacecraft/avionics system test or similar complex systems environment
- Proven experience writing/debugging automated test sequences (CCS/ATP or similar)
- Strong spacecraft system awareness (TM/TC, MIL-1553, SpaceWire, FDIR, AOCS, power, thermal)
- Experience with C/Java/Python/TCL/VBA or bespoke test languages (e.g. Elisa)
- Comfortable with Linux/Windows test environments & standard electrical lab instruments
- Experience supporting environmental/launch test campaigns and NRBs/TRBs
- Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent relevant experience
