Summary The Quality Engineer, On-site is responsible for facilitating and organizing the various actions needed to meet the quality standards of Special Metals Corporation. The Individual is responsible to facilitate the specification review process, perform the QE portion of contract review, serve as the QE representative for Wavefront systems, assist with export/import compliance, perform internal audits, and participate in continuous improvement projects. Individual must become cross trained in all aspects of the department’s responsibilities and participate in ongoing trainings. Must demonstrate knowledge of quality assurance procedures. Complete various assignments and duties as directed by management. Qualifications Education and Experience - A Bachelor’s degree in a Engineering field such as Material Science, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering and at least two years (2 +) of quality related job experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Knowledge of aerospace material specifications, aerospace quality standards and quality systems is preferred.
- Employee must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform certification function, system knowledge and core competencies within 6 months of employment.
Special Skills - Computer literacy is a requirement.

- Organizational skills and attention to detail are critical.
- Reliable attendance and good communication skills are essential.

Additional Notes The Company retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position. Physical Dimensions Physical Demands: The Employee will frequently move about the production facilities, both in The New Hartford and Dunkirk locations. Infrequent travel will also be a requirement to achieve required completion of audits and fulfill training requirements. Work Environment: The physical environment requires the employee to mainly work in an office setting, however exposure to the production facilities both inside and outside in year round conditions is not uncommon. For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $79,500 to $119200 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1.5X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company&39;s medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
