Location: Greenford (with travel to Loudwater site once or twice per month)

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Quality team based in Greenford, supporting a broad portfolio of advanced maritime defence products. This is a hands-on, manufacturing-focused role with strong shopfloor engagement, working closely with production teams to ensure quality standards are maintained and continuously improved.
The Role
As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will play a key part in ensuring manufacturing quality across multiple products and programmes. You will be responsible for managing non-conformances, supporting internal audits, and driving root cause and corrective actions to improve processes and prevent recurrence.
This role will suit someone who enjoys being visible on the shopfloor, working directly with production teams, and taking ownership of day-to-day quality issues in a fast-moving engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on quality assurance support across manufacturing operations
- Maintain and follow existing control plans and inspection plans
- Own and manage the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process, ensuring issues are documented, contained and resolved
- Lead and support root cause analysis and corrective actions using tools such as 8D and 5 Whys
- Conduct and support internal audits, ensuring compliance with quality processes and standards
- Support reporting and quality documentation, providing clear updates to stakeholders
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality to improve product and process performance
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and right-first-time manufacturing
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Experience in a Manufacturing Quality / Production Quality environment
- Strong understanding of NCR processes and corrective action implementation
- Proven experience using root cause tools such as 8D / 5 Whys
- Comfortable working in a hands-on shopfloor role, supporting day-to-day quality activity
- Experience supporting or delivering internal audits
- Strong communication skills and confidence working cross-functionally
Desirable
- Background in Defence, Maritime, Aerospace, Automotive, Electronics, or Medical Devices
- Experience in a mechanical or electro-mechanical manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of quality documentation and reporting best practice
Security Requirements
This role requires Security Clearance (SC) and is UK Eyes Only. Candidates must be eligible and willing to undergo the full clearance process.
