The Project Engineer II is responsible for developing cost-reduction initiatives on mechanical aerospace products aligned to the assigned Gold Business Enterprise (GBE). This requires extensive coordination, negotiation, and partnering with Engineering, Program Management and other functions within the Integrated Supply Chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in Mechanical Value Engineering and strategic cost-takeout projects aligned with the business and GBE plans.
- Conduct engineering-driven workshops and product line deep dives to identify new cost-takeout ideas. Execute the Value Engineering process and ensure consistent application across all projects.
- Provide technical support to current Value Engineering projects in execution to improve product cost, producibility, and yield.
- Align with Materials Management to achieve synergies in cost-takeout efforts to ensure that strategic business roadmaps are followed.
- Develop short, medium- and long-term projects through deep dives and supplier workshops to maintain a portfolio of potential projects to support AOP and STRAP planning for Cost Performance Engineering.
- Develop and maintain required reporting templates and tools to support project reviews, Management Operating Reviews, and clearinghouses as needed.
- Work closely with manufacturing, sourcing, engineering, Honeywell senior executives, program managers, and customer business team to maximize the return on investment of the projects.
- Translate customer and business needs into actionable product requirements.
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Aerospace engineering
- 2+ years’ experience of project management in Integrated Supply Chain or Project Engineering
- Experience performing product manufacturing cost analysis
