Role SummaryIn this role, you will provide engineering leadership to multidisciplinary teams, guiding internal and external resources. You will develop statements of work to support research, development, and ongoing business requirements. You will lead project execution, oversee changes in scope, manage schedules, costs, and deliverables, and coordinate resources across the project lifecycle. You will support training device projects for the employer’s military aviation programs and contribute to proposal development, integration efforts, and delivery of advanced training solutions. Education & Job Requirements You must have:
* A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited program in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
* A minimum of 3 years of experience leading teams in either a formal or informal capacity.
* A minimum of 5 years of experience with project management in an engineering environment.
* Experience developing technical proposal responses and cost estimates.
* Experience creating and managing program schedules, budgets, and plans for technical projects.
* Education/experience equivalent to advanced technical education plus 9 or more years of related industry experience. Preferred Skills You will have:
* A minimum of 5 years of team leadership experience.
* A minimum of 7 years of engineering project-management experience.
* Experience with training systems or military aircraft platforms.
* Experience with DoD acquisition, FMS, or direct commercial sales processes.
* Experience with IRAD projects.
* Experience with cost-account management or earned-value management.
* Experience working in a SAFe Agile environment. Job Duties / Functions You will be:
* Providing engineering leadership to multidisciplinary teams supporting technical projects.
* Developing statements of work supporting R&D, new business, and ongoing project needs.
* Securing approvals from customers and leadership for the project scope.
* Assessing and negotiating changes to scope, deliverables, resources, cost, and schedule.
* Leading execution of technical work statements and identifying performance metrics.
* Planning and coordinating resources required throughout the life of the project.
* Defining and implementing strategies for risk mitigation and opportunity management.
* Comparing performance against baselines to evaluate productivity and lessons learned.
* Providing technical, business, and integration leadership across project phases.
* Supporting engineering proposal activities for military aviation training platforms.
* Collaborating with engineering teams and program management to maintain shared project vision.
* Leading planning and execution of training-device projects within the employer’s military programs.
