What You Will Do
Lead detailed analysis and design of externals hardware components, including tubes, brackets, mounts, and related structural elements, ensuring their integrity, reliability, and compliance with program requirements.
Manage moderately sized projects or engineering processes with minimal oversight.
Serve as a recognized subject-matter expert within the structural engineering discipline.
Demonstrate advanced to expert-level knowledge and apply it to solve difficult and complex engineering challenges
Provide coaching, review work, and delegate tasks to junior engineers and lower-level professionals.
English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English.
Travel is up to 10.
Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering
8 years of engineering experience or An Advanced Degree in Engineering with 5 years of engineering experience.
Experience with structural engineering experience with FE and classical methods for strength, stress/deflection, vibration, fatigue life, or damage tolerance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
Experience with High cycle fatigue (HCF), low cycle fatigue (LCF) and fracture analysis theory and applications.
Background in turbomachinery.

Mechanical Systems, Externals, and Nacelles Engineering is responsible for the design, development and in service support of power transmission systems, bearing compartment and rotor support design and analysis, oil and thermal management systems, engine externals packaging and architecture, as well as nacelles for commercial and military engine models. Technical disciplines include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Product Definition, System Modeling, Mechanical Design analysis for bearings gears and seals, and fluid-thermal modeling of associated components and systems.
