What You Will Do:
- Develop FPGA-based designs from system requirements in compliance with DO-254 for DAL A/B projects.
- Capture device-level requirements from system/hardware specifications and develop FPGA design architecture.
- Lead and mentor small teams (3–6 engineers), providing technical guidance, reviewing deliverables, and fostering professional growth.
- Drive re-engineering and obsolescence management for FPGA designs.
- Write, review, and implement VHDL RTL code for Microchip/Intel/Altera/Xilinx FPGAs.
- Design with advanced FPGA architectures such as MPSoC and RFSoC.
- Perform synthesis, place and route, and timing analysis.
- Troubleshoot and resolve design and verification issues, ensuring robust and high-quality deliverables.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, software, systems, and verification teams.
- Represent the FPGA team during product lifecycle audits and compliance reviews.
- Lead technical reviews of test cases, procedures, and results to ensure coverage, quality, and consistency.
- Drive schedule adherence and quality metrics, ensuring the team remains aligned and on task.
- Coordinate effectively with remote/global teams.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to team members, assessing skills and building capabilities.
- Support board bring-up, hardware testing, and system integration activities.
What You Will Learn:
- Work on high-integrity avionics systems including TCAS, ADS-B, and XPDR product lines.
- Gain leadership experience in DO-254 compliant FPGA development.
- Hands-on exposure to advanced verification methodologies and simulation/testing approaches.
- Opportunities to contribute across the full FPGA lifecycle — from requirements to hardware validation.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, VLSI, or related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in FPGA design and verification, with at least 3+ years in a technical lead role.
- Strong RTL coding expertise in VHDL.
- Proven experience with FPGA design flows: lint, CDC, synthesis, place and route, static timing analysis.
- Direct experience with DO-254 processes for DAL A/B projects.
- Knowledge of avionics standards and test environments.
- Strong command of interfaces such as PCIe, ARINC-429, MIL-1553, ARINC-818, SPI, AXI, ADC, etc.
- Hands-on expertise in requirements capture, architecture, and implementation of complex FPGA designs.
- Familiarity with MATLAB for algorithm development and FPGA implementation.
- Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
