Senior Principal Systems Design Engineer job in El Segundo, California is available with Moseley Technical Services top R&D Space Company. To qualify for this cleared, full time, direct hire, salaried job you will be a U.S. Citizen with active TS/SCI/SSBI security clearance and 10+ years related work experience. In this job you will lead Systems Engineering from system conceptual design, concept, requirements development, architecture definition, and design definition of various demonstrations to establish technology readiness and identify long lead development needs in support of a future system.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering efforts from conceptual design through verification and validation to support technology readiness for future systems.
• Collaborate with researchers and technology experts to develop and test operational, functional, and environmental requirements in an agile, model-based engineering environment.
• Leverage advanced Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools to perform trade studies and provide innovative solutions to complex technical problems.
• Define functional architecture, coordinate modeling and simulation efforts, and ensure alignment with system architecture.
• Oversee the integration of systems electronics and devices into larger system designs, considering impacts on manufacturability, interfaces, and integrated testing.
• Develop innovative test methodologies to validate models and performance budgets, managing verification and validation efforts.
• Drive system performance evaluations from concept to product delivery, including lab demonstrations and manufacturing.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen with an active TS/SCI/SSBI security clearance.
• Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry.
• 5+ years of experience in system design, modeling, simulation, verification, and validation.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience leading risk mitigation and issue resolution.

Preferred Skills

• Counter Intelligence polygraph adjudicated within the last 5 years.
• 10+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Expertise in MBSE tools and languages such as Enterprise Architecture, Cameo, MagicDraw, and UML/SysML.
• Experience in DoDAF and tools like DOORS.
• Experience as a Lead Engineer overseeing system integration across multiple disciplines.
• Agile MBSE environment experience.
