What are your contributions to the team?
- Plans and organizes work on a short and occasionally mid-term basis based on priorities and schedule.
- Executes duties in adherence to Engineering Drawings, Manuals, Practices, Procedures, Standards, Test Methods, etc.
- Grasp problems from different stances and draft proposed solutions by using a variety of applicable techniques and tools.
- Collaborates within a team and/or initiates teamwork to achieve common objectives.
- Collaborates with other groups to share knowledge and best practices.
- Responds to internal customer requests.
- Conduct daily engineering surveillance on behalf of Materials & Processes Group intended to ensure a continued and flawless operations execution in adherence to Design and Engineering.
- Requirements at the different Operation Sites in Mexico.
- Provide materials and processes technical guidance as necessary to operations groups such as Engineering Liaison, Quality, Methods, Production, Supply, and Laboratory staff on the evaluation, testing, manufacturing, assembly, and process controls applicable per Drawing and Engineering Practices.
- Review Technical Instructions , Engineering and Laboratory Procedures, Qualifications Plans, Request for Deviations, Non-Conformance Report, Special Technical Request.
- May participate in various engineering collaborative tasks like the evaluation of metallic and non-metallic materials through test plans, certifications reports and processes audit to suppliers.
- Support on-going continuous improvement initiatives to increase team efficiency through relevant engineering, processing, and other capability improvements.
How to thrive in this role?
- You have a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Metallurgy, Metallurgy and Materials, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
- You have at least two (2) years of proven experience in industry, preferably in manufacturing, assembly maintenance or overhauling in the aviation industry. Other industry sector such
- Automotive, Chemical or Metal-Mechanics may be considered.
- You have a sound background of metallic materials, its alloys, and its processing, forming processes, corrosion, plastic and composite materials, sealants, adhesives, protective coatings, chemical processing, plating, anodizing, passivating, surface enhancement by shot peening, special surface treatments, conventional machining, heat treatment.
- You are familiar or have had exposure to aerospace military and industry standards and practices like SAE-AMS, DSP-MIL, FED-SPEC, FED-STD, ANSI, AIA NAS, and ASTM.
- You are able to demonstrate engineering solving problems skills along with analysis and synthesis skills in a medium to high pressure environment.
- You have pro-active mindset and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- You must be able to work in a team environment and collaborate with Technical Experts, Professionals and Technicians on a daily basis.
- You have excellent communication skills in English. French will be considered an asset.
- You have excellent interpersonal skills and a high sense of commitment.
