Position Summary

 

Magellan Aerospace, Middletown has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer Co-Op, who assists Manufacturing Engineering, Project Managers and/or Program Managers as assigned in the following areas: manufacturing planning and shop liaison functions, continuous improvement functions, and business development.

 

Essential Responsibilities

 

  • Reading and interpreting customer blueprints and specifications
  • Formulating manufacturing planning paperwork and rework plans
  • Assisting manufacturing personnel with resolutions of technical problems in areas such as tooling and/or manufacturing processes
  • Development and implementation process documentation in Manufacturing Technical Directive documentation
  • Supporting effort in a cross functional team
  • Defining and documentation of current process
  • Identifying potential areas of improvement
  • Developing and documenting plan to achieve improvement
  • Investigate and document appropriate process for reviewed business
  • Identify, evaluate and define process and equipment needed for effort 

 

 

Position Requirements

 

  • Currently enrolled in an engineering graduate or undergraduate degree program with a Junior status. Has previous knowledge of CAD.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
