Purpose of Position

  • Manage the High Bay functional departments, including Engineering Test, Design Engineering Test, Control Systems Test, Computer System Test, Mechanical Installation, Assembly, and Project Coordination Engineering responsible for all engineering test of simulators and hardware technical support during HSI, installations and FAA certifications.

  • Support is also required for modifications, upgrades, and simulators still under warranty.


Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Integrate Test departments into common focus to meet goals.

  • Focus and Lead test departments in achieving division goals and results.

  • Establish a quality-focused environment to reduce rework and achieve high customer satisfaction.

  • Achieve schedule requirements and be able to adjust and compensate for schedule changes.

  • Identify opportunities for performance improvements and implement strategies to guide production operations.

  • Achieve optimum teammate levels with least amount of teammates to achieve forecasts and budget.

  • Develop and implement cross training and utilization program to achieve maximum productivity.

  • Manage equipment and employee utilization and make recommendations as appropriate.

  • Implements improvements and establishes metrics to measure results. Drives Continuous Improvement.


Job Requirements:
Minimum Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable discipline
Minimum Experience
  • 5 years
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • PC Literate: Routinely uses Microsoft Windows based programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Project and Internet Explorer to perform day-to-day tasks (timesheets,expense reports and e-mail) and to generate various reports.
  • Uses Keytech and AutoCad to reference electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Conversant with using Microsoft and Linux based operating systems for initialization, operation and troubleshooting of simulator systems and subsystems.
  • Must have a firm grasp of the concepts involved with troubleshooting embedded systems and performing system level troubleshooting utilizing software programs and utilities.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
