Location: Tewkesbury

Role Type: 12-month sandwich course placement

We have an opportunity for a Systems or an or Electronic Engineer Intern to join us at Honeywell, in Tewkesbury, where you will be responsible for supporting and developing cutting edge solutions for satellite connectivity in the aerospace sector.

This is a hybrid role, 3 days at the office + 2 days work from home model, but you will start the role fulltime in the office, for us to support your learning, and be expected to work from the office during training.

This role is part of our University Relations program, designed to help students and recent graduates launch their careers with hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities for growth within Honeywell. This internship is set up for 12 months to cover a sandwich placement starting in Summer 2026, with the opportunity for a permanent opportunity once you graduate in 2028.

Key responsibilities:

We are seeking one Electronic and one Systems Engineer Intern; there are subtle differences between both roles.

You will work closely with experienced professionals, as well as an assigned buddy, to gain hands-on experience within a friendly and supportive team to be trained to achieve the following:

  • Systems and Hardware design of Satellite Communication systems primarily in the L-band (1.5GHz) frequency range
  • Testing and debugging electronic systems according to test specifications
  • Contribution to design and document reviews for your own and other areas of development
  • Providing support to the team to meet project milestones

Key skills and qualifications:

  • Currently studying a sandwich course degree in Systems, Electronics, Electrical or Communications Engineering, graduating in 2028
  • A-level or equivalent in Maths and a Science
  • Experience designing systems and solutions, this may be designing small group projects or using SDE and UML as part of your course
  • Experience in electronic engineering through school, home or industrial projects.
  • Business level English communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Can commute with ease to our Bracknell office
