 What You Will Do:

The deployment of model-based enterprise (MBE) and digital capabilities into Pratt & Whitney’s engine development process is a key enabler for future capability and is critical to meeting the expectations of our customers.  Hot Section Engineering (HSE) is seeking a mission-driven leader to coordinate the development and implementation of MBE and digital initiatives across military development CIPTs as the Module Center Digital Lead.  In this role, the HSE Module Center Digital Lead will champion HSE digital CORE IT’s and integrate with the P&W MBE team to drive strategy alignment across mod centers and programs/CIPTs to ensure digital initiatives are compatible with mod center engineering processes and needs. 

 Responsibilities:

  • Work to align MBE, program, and module center CIPT short and long-term digital strategies 
  • Cross-program and multi-disciplinary visibility to identify mod center digital gaps and drive closure through the MBE
  • Supervisors multiple HSE program digital leads responsible to CIPT teams to align staffing and execution plans to program digital requirements and scope 
  • Coordinate with HSE discipline leadership to identify how discipline roles and responsibilities are affected by the digital transformation and development short and long-term strategies to deploy within the disciplines 
  • Champion HSE Digital CORE ITs to enhance deployment and integration within the mod center disciplines 
  • Support multiple MBE scrum teams as key stakeholder for HSE
  • Travel up to 10

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor of Science in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • 12 years of engineering experience or 10 years of experience with an advanced degree
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Master of Science Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or master’s degree in engineering business administration
  • Proven track record of leadership, innovation, and initiative
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to all levels of the organization
  • Passion for the mission, teamworking and collaboration in fast paced environment
  • Understanding of Agile project management principles and experience leading teams within an agile framework 
  • MBE experience, including digital transformation software solutions such as Teamcenter, Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS), Cameo, 3DExperience, Confluence, and Jira 
  • Experience with system modeling, analysis, and simulation, including requirements traceability and validation in a model-based environment 
  • Active U.S. government issued security clearance

 Hot Section Engineering (HSE)-Department Overview

 Hot Section Engineering is responsible for the design, development, technology maturation and in service support of all diffuser cases, combustors, turbines (vanes, blades, rotors and cases), augmenters (military), nozzles and associated fuel systems for all military, commercial and industrial engine models and radial auxiliary power units. Technical disciplines in HSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Durability and Product Definition.

 What Is My Role Type:

 In addition to transforming the future of flight, we are also transforming how and where we work. We’ve introduced role types to help you understand how you will operate in our blended work environment. This role is:

 

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

 Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

 

This position is open to internal applicants only within Pratt & Whitney.  To help sure up our military programs, we are looking to reallocate resources to USG direct charging roles and therefore consider this to be an internal to Pratt movement.  We may look to open these opportunities upon more broadly once we complete the initial Pratt talent moves.  

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
