Pratt & Whitney, a business unit of RTX Corporation, is a global company that designs, manufactures and services the world’s most advanced aircraft engines and auxiliary power systems for commercial, military and business aircraft.
As part of our global expansion strategy, Pratt & Whitney (P&W) Engineering has recently established a European Technology & Innovation Center (ETIC) in the Netherlands. The office is located in Houten, near the historic city of Utrecht, 30 minutes from Amsterdam and within the Dutch Randstad, a region that boasts nearly half the Dutch population.
The Advanced Concepts & Technologies (AC&T) organization within Pratt & Whitney Engineering is seeking a Global Trade (GT) and Operations Manager who will be responsible for ensuring that Global Trade rules and regulations pertaining to the exchange of data between parties within and external to the company are rigorously followed. The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing the overall operations of ETIC. The candidate will work across ETIC, AC&T, and other relevant organizations to identify and drive execution of required projects to achieve breakthrough performance in the areas of delivery, technology, financial performance, and organizational health.
Key Global Trade Responsibilities:
Understand and monitor applicable local (European & Dutch) Global Trade regulations.
Ensure applicable US, European and Dutch GT requirements are incorporated into Site requirements (policy / procedure / standard work) and appropriate business decision points.
Develop standard work and Site-based GT procedures, where necessary, and implement after receiving approval from Business GT team responsible for policy implementation.
Support implementation of Site-specific GT-related technology or access controls, and facility or visitor controls.
Support connectivity between onsite GT Focals and onsite or remote GT Professionals through regular meetings, trainings and / or other communication methods.
Understand the Site and visitor protocols at their Site and ensure the Site is in compliance with GT policy requirements.
Key Operations Management Responsibilities:
Develop and implement effective processes to support the sales campaign process and for efficiently developing proposals at ETIC.
Partner with Program Management to ensure execution of program delivery and cost plans.
Perform financial planning and manage the execution of ETIC operations to the approved financial plans.
Implement the P&W CORE operating system within ETIC.
Build strong working relationships internally P&W engineering and program offices.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 years’ experience or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
Familiarity with the Global Trage regulations in Europe, The Netherlands , or the United States.
Project Management experience.
A strong background and experience in collaborative partnerships
Leadership & initiative in unclear environments
Dutch or European citizenship is required.
Travel up to 10
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with project management tools and their applications.
Experience working in a research and technology development environment.
Familiarity with global public-private partnership/funding programs
Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills
Ability to work across groups and disciplines to achieve alignment
