About The Role:
The Field Supplier Quality Engineer (FSQE) is the primary quality interface between Raytheon’s organization and the external supply base. The FSQE will perform as a unified quality voice working closely with Integrated Program Team(s) the execution of First Article Inspections, Final Source Inspections, Supplier Assessments, Problem Resolution, and other contracted quality assessments as needed. The FSQE represents Raytheon professionally and supports Raytheon’s Vision, Values, Strategy and Goals in the supply base.
- Remote: This position currently is designated as remote. Employees who are working in remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home) but may be expected to travel to the site location as needed. The successful candidate for this role will be required to reside and work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. territories).
What You Will Do:
- Ensure flow down of product requirements both internally and to sub-tier suppliers through PO requirements, Quality Notes, and statement of works.
- Interpreting these requirements to ensure supply base both understands and complies with these quality requirements.
- Interpret quality requirements (Q-Notes) and make decisions on Q-Note application to procured production parts
- Perform on-site Source Surveillance and Corrective Action reviews
- Drive continuous product / process improvements of our supply base by identifying supplier risk & systemic performance issues and driving solutions through various tools/methodologies including: Root Cause Corrective Actions, Statistical/analytical improvement tools such as Six Sigma and Lean Methodologies.
- Facilitate closed loop process controls and continuous improvement methods to improve product/process quality
- Perform Supplier factory process walks and factory risk assessments
- Perform reviews of supplier manufacturing instructions and processes to mitigate escape risk
- Collaborate with Supplier Requirements and Services on Supplier change requests, and Supplier Statements of Work
- Contribute in the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure supplier quality performance
- Communicate effectively to stakeholders through business reviews and status meetings.
- Ability to travel as required by program needs. Anticipate travel (Up to 50) to support supplier assessments, audits, reviews.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years relevant experience.
- Experience working within commercial and aerospace / defense regulations and standards - AS9100, AS9102, ISO-9000, AS9145
- Experience managing and leading suppliers with Root Cause Corrective Action methods such as 5 Why, Fishbone, etc.
- Experience working process improvement initiatives
- Experience in collecting and analyzing supplier data

Qualifications We Prefer:
- Six Sigma, Lean, and/or American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification (CQE, CQM/OE, CSQE, CQA, CRE, etc.)
- Proven successes in building and maintaining relationships with multiple suppliers/ customers.
- Experience in DoD product and process oversight including requirements, build, integration, test, and delivery.
- Experience in engineering, development, project planning, and remote collaboration
- Remote collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders (DOW, DCMA, Raytheon, supply base)
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 quality management systems, AS9145 Requirements for APQP & PPAP, and FAI Standard AS9102.
- General knowledge of industry technical standards (such as ANSI, CMMI, ASTM, etc.)
- Strong technical engineer with excellent communication skills that exhibits presence and influence and self-managed technical contributor.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
