Compression Systems Engineering at Pratt & Whitney (P&W) is looking for a self-motivated and disciplined individual to join its team as a Model Deputy for the base model F135 Fan within the F135 Fan CIPT. In concert with the CIPT leadership team, the Model Manager will be the CIPT focal point for all base Fan module activities in support of the F135 program. The Model Deputy will provide ownership and accountability for all aspects (financial performance, technical excellence, customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction and quality processes) of base Fan module activities. This position requires proven leadership, excellent communication skills, and well-rounded general engineering knowledge.

What You Will Do

• Collaborate with CIPT leadership team and IPT leaders to develop and execute both small- and large-scale production delivery activities, in support of the focus parts list developed by the program
• Communicate module status, issues, and risks to both internal (CIPT, SIPT, PMO, CSE leadership) and external customers (JPO)
• Collaborate with the SIPT and the PMO to manage budget and ensure technical and schedule milestones are achieved
• Lead root cause investigations and process engineering changes to address adverse learning from production or fielded fleet
• Level 3 budget ownership and monthly business rhythm earned value reporting
• CAM (Control Account Manager) ownership of module level accounts (i.e. P&M)

Qualifications You Must Have

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering with 8+ years of engineering experience OR
• Advanced degree with 5+ years of engineering experience
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Advanced degree in engineering and/or MBA
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple activities
• Demonstrated effectiveness in working across functions, organizations, and all levels of management
• Focus on results and the ability to drive tasks to completion
• Experience as an IPT Leader or similar position
• Knowledge and experience with Project Management toolsets (risk-based decision making, proposal generation, task baselining, Earned Value Management System (EVMS), SAP, etc.)
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.

Compression Systems Engineering (CSE)

Compression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, development, and in service support of all fans low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products.

Technical disciplines in CSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, and Product Definition.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
