Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector is currently seeking an On-site Engineering Technician 4 to support our Electronic Manufacturing Business Lane at the Rocket Center, West Virginia location. This position is on site at our Rocket Center, WV location. No remote opportunities available for this position.

Rocket Center, WV is located along the North Branch Potomac River in Mineral County, West Virginia and is home to the Allegany Ballistics Laboratory (ABL), a government installation operated by Northrop Grumman. Known for its scenic mountain landscapes, rolling hills and state parks, the region offers a multitude of outdoor recreational opportunities to include hiking, mountain biking, skiing, fishing, hunting and whitewater rafting. This position will be on-site and no remote opportunities are available.

Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities

• Maintains and improves manufacturing & test processes and equipment daily.
• Reviews, troubleshoots, and repairs circuit card assemblies based on IPC and J-STD specifications.
• Conducts testing on circuit card and product assemblies and develops pareto charts documenting results.
• Develops and deploys lean/5s principles to production lines and drives continuous improvement.
• Reviews short- and long-term process control and statistical control trends and aids in implementing corrective actions.
• Assists operational personnel on manufacturing of product on multiple production lines.
• Handles explosive materials and liquid flammables on a daily basis.
• Able to read and interpret government specifications.
• Ability to cover off shift and weekend operations when needed.
• Operate various computer systems and manage database entries.
• Provides technical support across multiple disciplines.
• Monitor gage, instrument, and equipment calibrations.
• Communicate effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to multitask.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years related experience
• Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision
• Ability to routinely lift 30 pounds
• Proficient in MS office
• Ability to obtain a DOD secret clearance (US citizenship is required)

Preferred Experience:

• Associate’s degree in STEM field.
• Circuit card assembly troubleshooting and diagnostics/repair experience.
• Demonstrated hands-on mechanical and electro-mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting.
• Automated assembly experience
• Surface Mount Technology experience

Salary Range: $66,300.00 - $110,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
