The Engineering Safety Manager is responsible for promoting, facilitating and monitoring the effective delivery of safety management across Engineering and Maintenance, ensuring that easyJet remains an industry leader in engineering safety. Providing expert advice and guidance on safety matters across our network, the role ensures the effective delivery of safety risk management across engineering, leading investigations, providing risk assessment and conducting safety data analysis.

Your Mission:
As the Engineering Safety Manager, you’ll play a critical role in promoting, facilitating, and monitoring the effective delivery of safety management across Engineering and Maintenance. Your expertise will ensure easyJet remains an industry leader in engineering safety, providing expert advice and guidance on safety matters across our network. You’ll lead investigations, provide risk assessments, and conduct safety data analysis to drive a culture of safety excellence.
What Your Day Will Look Like:
· Provide Expert Support: Offer subject matter expertise and support to Engineering & Maintenance (E&M) management on safety and risk management.
· Drive Safety Training & Standards: Ensure training and investigation techniques align with the company’s safety management and investigation manuals.
· Lead Investigations: Conduct investigations into significant events to ensure lessons are learned and improvements are implemented.
· Monitor Safety Performance
· Prepare and run monthly E&M Safety Action Group (SAG) meetings.
· Identify notable events and provide summaries and updates on investigations.
· Represent E&M: Act as the E&M safety representative at significant meetings, including the SMS Steering Group, ensuring coordination across easyJet.
· Oversee Risk Management: Conduct Operational Readiness activities, maintain the departmental risk register, and ensure risk management aligns with easyJet’s processes.
· Collaborate on Projects: Work on multiple projects in parallel, engaging with relevant departments across the business.
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
· Industry Knowledge: A good understanding of EASA & CAA continuing airworthiness regulations.
· Investigation Expertise: Ideally, completed an investigator’s course with a proven track record in delivering safety improvements and organisational change in a complex, multi-site aviation environment.
· Project Management: Proven experience in managing and implementing projects successfully.
· Communication & Influence: Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to present technical issues clearly to senior management.
· Safety Champion: A strong advocate for safety with the ability to challenge the status quo and embed safety principles into day-to-day operations.
· Resilience Under Pressure: Able to meet tight deadlines, with the tenacity and resilience to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
· Training Experience: Experience in delivering training is preferred.
· Technical Proficiency: IT literate, with strong Microsoft Office skills and detailed knowledge of AMOS.
