The Allegheny County Airport Authority’s Engineering Internship position will participate as a valuable member of the engineering team. The candidate will participate and provide support on various engineering design and construction projects that support capital improvement projects as related to the operation and maintenance of the Pittsburgh International Airport and the Allegheny County Airport.  

Here is how the Engineering Intern will help:     

• Support field inspections for ongoing construction projects on the airfield, terminal, and roadway networks.
• Collaborate with various design and construction management engineering firms.
• Prepare technical reports, memos, and presentations summarizing findings and project progress.
• Develop familiarity with federal aviation regulations, state department of transportation requirements, as well as Allegheny County Airport Authority’s practices and standards.
• Assist project managers and engineers with various tasks.
• Work under the guidance of engineers who will provide mentoring and support toward professional growth.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned or required.

Qualifications

Requirements to apply for role of Engineering Intern are:

• Must currently be enrolled as a second-year undergraduate (or above) from an accredited four-year college or university in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Must maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or greater.
