Engineering Intern - Airworthiness

Job Description:

The 8-month engineering student will work within the airworthiness engineering department, supporting the coordination of the aircraft certification and continuing airworthiness activities within the company and between the company and the airworthiness authorities (primarily Transport Canada). Working with our Airworthiness Engineering Specialists, the individual will ensure that the department/company deliverables and tools effectively support the companys obligations under the applicable regulatory requirements. Duties & ResponsibilitiesSupport to the Continuing Airworthiness Corrective Action process, including risk assessment and corrective action plan development, in accordance with the established procedures, the management of Service Difficulty Reporting investigations and governance process, and Coordinate certification approval of design changes.Complete reports and assessment information for service difficulty reporting investigations Modernize the current Airworthiness Directive tracking database Support development and modernization of Airworthiness databases, Processes& Procedures and software toolsDevelop risk assessment and corrective action plans in accordance with established procedures Coordinate certification approval of design changes internally and potentially with regulatory airworthiness authorities Other responsibilities as assigned Education and Professional QualificationsCurrent aerospace engineering student (bachelor’s or masters) Preference given to students who have completed at least 2 years of undergraduate education Familiarization with TCCA/FAA/EASA regulations and standards related to design approval Experience with Microsoft Office SkillsProgramming experience is an asset, but not required Excellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational & time management skills
