Unique Skills:
DUTIES: Serve as an engineer checker in the Completions Structural/Mechanical engineering department. Review engineering designs of new and derivative versions of interior furnishings and amenities as part of outfitting new aircraft, including custom cabinetry such as galleys, lavatories, closets, storage compartments, interior peripheries, water/waste systems, entertainment equipment installations, and seating installations. Review design work created using either AutoCAD or CATIA V5. Ensure designs are consistent with company standards and accepted design methods. Execute assignments under the direction of the Structural/Mechanical Engineering Lead or Group Head to meet manufacturing schedules. Perform engineering work related to the investigation and the solution of technical problems associated with the research, design, development, service, and manufacture of company aircraft. Solve typical engineering problems within assigned discipline. Provide technical assistance to engineering staff and contribute to completion of project milestones. Be responsible for a complex engineering assignment or a full project of lesser complexity. Follow established schedules while developing plans for engineering assignments. Obtain appropriate level of supervisor approvals for work accuracy and adequacy. Proficiently apply company/organization policies and procedures. Actively work to improve daily processes. Ensure all work meets customer requirements. Maintain a current and up-to-date knowledge of developments and application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in assigned field of expertise. Apply knowledge to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity, using a combination of judgment with defined practices and procedures. Work under general supervision for routine tasks of minor complexity. With supervision/mentorship, coordinate the activities for lower-level engineering staff. Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering field required. Eighteen months of related engineering experience required, including any experience with: CATIA V5, AutoCAD, and SmarTeam; conveying technical concepts in both written and verbal forms; aircraft cabin interior mechanical design including cabinet fabrication, materials, and processes; proprietary processes for the fabrication of machined parts, sheet metal parts, honeycomb panels, and part assemblies; document creation for procedures and training; and with paint definition for cabinetry.
Must have legal authority to work in the U.S. EEOE.

Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree Engineering or a related curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. 18 months related Engineering experience. Experience credit will be considered for related advance degrees limited to 2 years for Master's and 4 years for PhD in field applicable to the job position.
