What Will You Be Doing?
The primary role of a Common Use Systems Engineer is to provide assistance and support to the 80+ common use stations by establishing relationships with the airports and airline common use providers.
The responsibilities of the Common Use Systems Engineer include but are not limited to; the setup of new common use stations, management of application upgrades, application certification, testing and troubleshooting. This position will also research all airline delays that are caused by the airport common use systems. This position will report to the Supervisor, Common Use Systems.
The role of Common Use Systems Engineer will be to support a variety of computer and operating systems, PC hardware and software installation and address complex common use platform issues. The Common Use Systems Engineer will directly interface with airline management personnel, airport management, and common use providers as part of their daily activities.
Essential Functions:
· Document differences with the current application for upgrades
- Connectivity Documents, work on plans for current and future Navitaire connectivity
- Document differences in connectivity from current and new upgrade connectivity with each common use provider
- Provide the Team with .net Framework requirements, Java, and data center requirements
- Work with Frontier IT Security Team on firewall changes and the whitelisting of IP addressing
- Provide Frontier Network Team with new addressing and NAT Pool addressing (document all changes)
- Help Frontier Networking Team with testing new IP addressing
- Provide and document the Certification process with all common use providers SITA, Collins (ARINC), ACUS, Materna, AirIT (Ease), Embross and AeroCloud.
- Create and propose a budget for certifications and installation of the new applications, when applicable
- Open work orders for all deployments
- Provide a UAT testing plan to the Frontier PMO and Navitaire groups for upgrades
- Schedule a hard-cutover plan for stations converting to common use or when upgrading applications
- Own vendor relationships including authority for repairs after final installation (clean-up work)
- Has ownership and accountability for the overall delivery of IT services to the airport and other locations served by Frontier airlines.
- Research Airline IT delays for common use stations
Other Functions:
- Work with external vendors and partner support as necessary to accomplish department and/or business goals and objectives.
- A strong discipline in working within a standardized ticketing system and documenting work tickets fully is a must in this position.
- Overall ability to work in a fast-paced environment being self-motivated.
- Able to successfully multitask and prioritize service issues.
Qualifications:
- Microsoft Certified Professional or equivalent experience preferred
- Troubleshooting knowledge of LAN, WAN technologies
- Prior experience supporting Airline/Airport technologies preferred
- 3+ years experience supporting MS Windows and XP required
- 3+ years experience supporting networked printers required
- 3+ years experience with PC hardware and software required
- Airline Common Use systems Configuration SITA, Collins (ARINC), ACUS, Materna, AirIT (Ease), Embross and AeroCloud
- Knowledge of CUSS applications and hardware

Remote work and flex work environment
Travel up to 10 of the time may be required, including possible travel overnight.
