Role Summary
* In this role, you will provide advanced electromagnetic effects expertise for defense aircraft programs, supporting analysis, testing, and design activities to ensure compliance, safety, and continued airworthiness. You will work across multiple platforms while collaborating with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers to develop solutions, validate performance, and maintain technical excellence. You will be responsible for performing complex studies, achieving electromagnetic compatibility, and supporting engineering efforts with minimal direction. Education & Job Requirements
* You must have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering physics, or physics.
* You must have familiarity with electromagnetic concepts such as RF isolation, shielding, grounding, and filtering.
* You must have the ability and willingness to travel up to 25 percent of the time as required.
* You must have a minimum of five years of related work experience. Preferred Skills
* You will have an ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree or an advanced degree in electrical engineering.
* You will have familiarity with defense or aerospace industry environments.
* You will have experience with MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, and/or DO-160 EMI/EMC requirements.
* You will have prior experience supporting Aerospace Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3).
* You will have experience supporting EMI qualification testing for aircraft LRUs, including reviewing procedures and test reports.
* You will have familiarity with aircraft-level E3 requirements and test methods found in MIL-STD-464.
* You will have knowledge of electrical bonding best practices for E3 compliance.
* You will have a foundation in RF systems and/or computational E3 tools. Job Duties / Functions
* You will be performing detailed trade studies, modeling, simulation, and analysis to predict system, interconnect, and component performance and to optimize designs for E3 compliance.
* You will be working under minimal direction to achieve electromagnetic compatibility across electronics, wiring, and aircraft structures.
* You will be interfacing with manufacturing teams on complex E3 design elements and coordinating with suppliers to ensure system-level compatibility.
* You will be reporting achievements, issues, and progress to program management and customers.
* You will be supporting project management by coordinating statements of work, schedules, budgets, and required program reviews.
* You will be applying EMI engineering expertise to document and resolve complex engineering challenges.
* You will be performing modeling, simulation, and trade studies to validate performance and support E3 design improvements.
* You will be applying conversion, correction, and antenna factors within EMI/EMC analyses and testing.
* You will be communicating clearly across multifunctional teams and participating in internal and external review boards.
* You will be processing engineering data and converting it into meaningful tables and graphs for technical reporting.
