Job Description:
This role is part of the Shop Floor Operations team within Edison Works Digital Technology. The position will engage business stakeholders, Information Assurance/Security, and other Digital Product Managers to ensure that we deploy and maintain information technology compliantly within an air-gapped environment. You will be responsible for defining requirements and delivering compliant digital solutions for use within the engineering, supply chain, and program management teams. The role will sustain digital software and hardware products, platforms, and services once delivered or that exist currently across the environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Acts as a primary executor in responding to customer and user-reported digital technology issues and incidents.
  • Be a platform technical engineer and provide technical expertise across multiple platforms/tools in support of key enterprise solutions.
  • Directly work with product owners, product managers and architects to enable and support technical platforms, which directly helps deliver the Edison Works solutions.
  • Responsible for engineering and documenting technical solutions based on the requirements and industry best practices.
  • Enable and support digital factory concepts including machine connectivity, sensor enablement, data visualization, mobility, etc.
  • Provide technical support for shop specific software such as: Factory Management, Security, HMI/SCADA, etc.
  • Promoter of process and technology standardization across commercial platforms/tools and be the catalyst to promote reuse.
  • Validate technical feasibility of design approach outlined by Enterprise Architects.
  • Will follow lean principles to promote continuous improvement for design and development of solutions.
  • Proactively learns new tools. Identifies opportunities for improvement and promotes their adoption.
  • Maintain documentation on all IT systems, installations, and configurations.

  • Hands-on experience with Windows client and server, Linux, and VMWare.
  • Development experience with Java, HTML, XML, Ansible or similar development/scripting languages.
  • Experience with networking infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience within a shop floor manufacturing environment supporting manufacturing execution applications and processes.
  • Active US DOD Security Clearance
  • Understanding and knowledge of DT Security control frameworks (i.e. NIST, ISO, etc.) as well regulatory requirements impacting DT systems (i.e. DFARS, ITAR, DoD/MoD, etc.)

Education Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from accredited university or college with a minimum of 1 year professional experience OR Associate degree with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience OR High School diploma with a minimum of 6 years of professional experience.
  • NOTE: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience

Eligibility Requirement:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance
