What You will Do:
The DPHM Advanced Military Engine Program (AMEP) Engineer will be responsible for development of the PHM Systems for 6th Gen military engine programs. This includes defining the system and subsystem requirements for hardware and software, advancing a variety of technologies for gas path diagnostics, and defining and executing the fault detection and isolation strategy for the programs. In this role, AMEP DPHM Engineer will collaborate with a large cross-section of P&W engineering and sustainment teams as well the engine end customer to identify CBM capability needs for 6th Gen programs and capturing them in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools. This position type is for on-site and requires active security clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and model PHM System and Subsystem level requirements
- Drive maturation of PHM Sensing functions
- Support development, validation, and verification of on-board software for PHM functions
- Drive root cause and corrective action for challenges related to PHM systems
- Conduct requirement compliance assessment analyses for Fault Detection and Isolation and CBM
- Advance new technologies for sensors and algorithm for PHM/CBM
- Integrate between P&W, Collins and the Raytheon Technologies Research Center
- Perform sub-system trade studies and analyses leveraging data analytics and machine learning where applicable
- Develop On-Board and Off-board Algorithms to enable Condition Based Inspection (CBI)
- Manage data system requirements between Propulsion System and the Airframe
- Less than 10 Travel

Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- 2 years’ experience in engineering or an advanced degree and 0 years’ experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Knowledge of and exposure to aerospace control and diagnostic systems
- Experience in gas turbine engine subsystems and their architecture, performance, and analysis
- Proficiency in requirements management tools such as DOORs
- Proficiency in MBSE methodology and tools such as CAMEO Experience in coordinating with multiple organizations and operating in cross-functional IPTs
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA
- Basic familiarity with Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
- Strong ability to effectively communicate, lead, influence and coordinate across teams in strategic projects and initiatives
- Familiarity with modern data analysis, signal processing and AI/ML
- Experience in programing tools/languages such as with MATLAB, Python, C, and LABVIEW,
- Proficiency with Microsoft O365 toolset

The Diagnostics, Prognostics and Health Management (DPHM) discipline within CDS is responsible for the development and deployment of cutting-edge data acquisition systems, diagnostics, prognostics, and analytics. The DPHM discipline maintains functional ownership of Prognostic Health Management (PHM) sensing systems and Fault Detection and Isolation though the product lifecycle to enable Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) fleet management.

This role is:
- Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
- Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
This position is open to internal applicants only within Pratt & Whitney. To help sure up our military programs, we are looking to reallocate resources to USG direct charging roles and therefore consider this to be an internal to Pratt movement. We may look to open these opportunities upon more broadly once we complete the initial Pratt talent moves.
Requires theoretical to advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through University Degree combined with experience. Practical knowledge of RTX projects, programs
or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.
Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience.
Engineering/Other Technical Positions:Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics(STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior
relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
