Job Description SummaryThe Commercial Life Management Engineer will perform analysis required to establish safe and maintain operating life limits for the engine’s most critical rotating parts across the commercial product lines, including LEAP, GE9x, GE90, P20, Honda, and others. You will work with state-of-the-art engineering technology, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through collaboration across GE Aviation Engineering disciplines.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the Life Management assessments for critical components of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical engineering across commercial product lines.
  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
  • Document and communicate results of technical data generated
  • Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives
  • Share engineering information and promote open dialogue and group problem solving
  • Broaden knowledge of Life Management and Mechanical Design technical disciplines to execute policy/strategy. Actively acquire higher level knowledge and skills.
  • Gain basic understanding of key business drivers and how Life Management deliverables contribute to the success of the Enterprise.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited university or college
  • 2-3+ years of experience in Engineering preferred, but less experience could be considered

Desired Characteristics

  • Prior experience in Life Management, DRs, Serviceable Limit assessment, MRBs.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently
