The Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) Advanced Engine Programs (AEP) Mechanical Design team is seeking experienced mechanical engineering professionals to join our team. Advanced Engine Programs is an environment that covers all Fan & Compressor hardware nosecone/spinner to entrance to diffuser. Specific Intention for this position is for a Design Leader of a Versatile Fan Rig (VFR). Initial goals are to provide PW with a military fan compressor rig that can be operated at RTRC Compressor Test facility. Replication of existing architecture is order of the day, while also incorporating rig capability to incorporate a vast array of anticipated configuration and technology insertion on future builds. Other elements of the assignment may include integration of compressor technologies.

What You Will Do
- Lead the entire Design team and be responsible for program deliverables as well as coaching, develops skills and mentoring PW team members as well as delegate for Design approval by Design Manager..
- Provide Cross functional understanding and integration skill and responsible for planning, prioritizing and execution.
- Interfaces with internal and external customers as well as leads tool/method improvements EKS (Engineering Knowledge System) content and direction as well as communicates with parties within and outside of own function, and typically has responsibilities for communicating with parties external to the organization, (e.g., customers, vendors, etc.)..
- Lead resolution of mechanical engineering problems of difficult and complex scope.
- Responsible for improving upon existing processes and systems using significant conceptualizing, reasoning and interpretation. Solutions are novel and unique, and achieved through research and integration of industry best practice.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering with 10+ years of Mechanical System Design engineering experience OR
- An Advanced degree with 7+ years of relevant experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
- Advanced mechanical design experience within aerospace or turbofan engine industry.
- Rig Design
- Facilities integration
- Instrumentation understanding
- Ability to provide technical leadership and when required, assist in training less experienced engineers to help them diagnose and solve problems and build capabilities.
- Candidate should have multi-discipline (Design, Heat Transfer, Structures) experience.
- Ability to interface effectively with both internal and external customers.

Compression Systems Engineering (CSE)
Compression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, development, and in service support of all fans low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products.
Technical disciplines in CSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, and Product Definition.
Afterspanet and Sustainment Engineering executes both military and commercial repair design and repairs substantiations for engines. We create and improve ASE business and repair development tools. We design, develop, and qualify military repair tooling.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
