What You Will Do
Design and develop real-time solutions in C and Python for 64-bit Debian and Ubuntu Linux systems, ensuring high-performance, real-time functionality.
Develop software drivers for PCIe and VME simulation cards, enhancing test and simulation capabilities.
Support and develop communication protocols to enable seamless interaction between systems and hardware.
Create and maintain clear, detailed documentation for all software systems, ensuring clarity for current and future teams.
Develop and maintain support scripts in Bash, Makefiles, and Expect to automate processes and streamline workflows.
Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for GitLab, creating tests and scripts for both bare-metal and virtualized hosts to support continuous integration and deployment.
Deploy software solutions and provide direct support to both internal and external customers, ensuring systems meet performance and reliability standards.
Maintain and support the existing code base, ensuring adherence to established design conventions, and enhancing functionality as needed.
Actively participate in Scrum activities, such as standups and retrospectives, collaborating with your team to improve processes and deliver quality results.
Manage multiple workstreams across various projects and engagements, ensuring deadlines and objectives are met effectively.
The role requires 50 on-site presence to handle tasks that need direct in-person interaction.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualification We Prefer
Proficiency in C and Python for developing real-time systems and applications.
Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded systems, particularly in complex environments.
A passion for solving complex challenges by working on high-performance systems that power simulations, tests, and real-time applications.
Problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and innovatively to overcome technical obstacles.
The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, balancing multiple tasks and priorities.
A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Hands-on experience with real-time Linux environments and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
