We are looking for an energetic and self starting avionics technician. You will utilize your skills and expertise to fabricate and install wire harnesses, electronic systems,
modules, and sub-assemblies on our industry leading eVTOL aircraft. You will be working in a fast paced prototype development environment and will be expected to work as part of a team.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install wire harnesses through lay in, routing, dressing and connector termination using aerospace approved tooling and best practices.
- Locate and install harness mounting hardware inclusive of click studs and clamps.
- Able to work from both very detailed, released manufacturing drawings as well as development harnesses sketches.
- Meet scheduled timelines and, in some cases, aggressive deadlines to have hardware ready for project milestones
- Follow engineering designs and building concepts/prototypes assisting with testing, continuity checks and data collection.
Experience:
- 5+ years of aviation experience performing modifications or aircraft wiring installs
- 3+ years of experience as a harness technician working on application critical, high-complexity harnesses
- Prior experience of bundling harness using techniques and methods including wax string lacing
- Must have hands on experience using shop tools and calibrated aerospace tooling including torque wrenches, crimping and striping tools.
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs unassisted
- Must be able to distinguish colors
- Prior work experience in the aerospace industry. Composite airframe preferred.
- Successful experience in a fast paced prototype/design environment
- Great communication skills and a high attention detail are required
Education:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required
- A&P Certification (Nice to have)
- Underpinning knowledge of IPC 610/620
- Demonstrated familiarity with AC43.13-B
