Job Summary
Advanced System Engineer, leading the design and the technical development of inertial navigation systems (either for the Industrial domain or for the Aerospace&Defence domain).
Main tasks will be the analysis of customer requirements, the generation of the system architecture and the set of formal system requirements, the definition of the applicable methods for the requirements validation, the specification of the procedures required to verify the design, the support for the proper installation of the product into the target platform and the overall coordination of the system development, integration and qualification/certification activities, together with the continuous relationship with the customer for all technical aspects.
Responsibilities
- Lead system-level requirements and architecture definition and flow-down of hardware/software requirements for Inertial Navigation systems (INS, AHRS, and IMU).
- Oversee integration, testing, and performance analysis of inertial systems, ensuring compliance with ARP4754A, ARP4761 (safety assessment) and qualification standards (DO-160, MIL-STD-810/461).
- Manage technical documentation, design reviews, and approval of test reports and technical studies.
- Coordinate cross-functional activities with engineering, production, Quality Assurance, procurement, and support customer and subcontractor interfaces.
- Contribute to product development aligned with the technology roadmap and support proposal preparation through requirement analysis and compliance matrices.
- Ensure timely delivery of project milestones and maintain the master schedule in collaboration with the Project Controller.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electronics, Opto-Electronics, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of avionics systems, navigation algorithms, control theory, and communication protocols.
- Excellent communication skills across technical, managerial, and customer-facing contexts.
- Capable to perform in-depth investigation of system failures or anomalies adopting a multidisciplinary attitude
- Intermediate or higher proficiency in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., IBM DOORS).
- Knowledge of reliability prediction standards (preferred MIL-HDBK-217F)
- Knowledge of reliability standards (e.g., MIL-HDBK-217F) and EASA/ESA certification frameworks.
