Job Description SummaryThe New Products and Adjacencies (NPA) team is responsible for the pursuit and execution of business related to advanced military and civil platforms, and the evaluation of opportunities in emerging markets. As a systems engineer on this team, you will perform technical activities in the design, development, integration and testing of embedded software applications pertaining to Future Vertical Lift applications and Stores Management Systems.
Our preferred location for this position is Clearwater, FL or Grand Rapids, MI on at least a hybrid basis. However, should a candidate request or need a remote work arrangement, the hiring team can be flexible to accommodate any U.S. work location. Note, the business may require the employee to come onsite initially for on the job trainings as well as onboarding activities. After that period, up to 20 travel may be required annually to support business needs.Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Generate and allocate system functional requirements into efficient software and firmware architectures utilizing Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
Validate and verify system requirements, including initial integration of software and hardware.
Develop innovative technical solutions utilizing the full capabilities of GE Aviation Systems on development programs and proposals.
Interact with customer engineering organizations to define and shape requirements for future platforms and systems.
Develop new tools in support of MBSE objectives.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field from an accredited university or college.
At least 5 years’ experience in MBSE engineering development.

Desired Characteristics
Knowledge of aviation systems development processes including ARP 4754A or similar.
Experience with software tools such as DOORs, Dimensions, RTC, Git, Windchill.
Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysML in Cameo/NoMagic tool for the design and verification of avionics-based systems.
Experience with AADL and ACVIP.
Experience with scripting in Python, JavaScript, Groovy, Perl, Bash.
Knowledge of the key aspects of developing and maintaining of a Product Line.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a dynamic environment.
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
