Advanced ASIC FPGA Engineer
Bloomington, MN
Contract Position
$66.43-$71.43/Hour
Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) and FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) developments.
- Develop system architecture, perform simulations, and define detailed design approaches.
- Create and verify test and simulation plans to ensure functional and performance criteria are met.
- Evaluate process flows, including high-level design, synthesis, place-and-route, timing, and power utilization.
- Analyze vendor capabilities, foundry technologies, device libraries, and simulation tools.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the ASIC/FPGA organization.
- Provide technical support throughout the ASIC/FPGA development life cycle, adhering to engineering standards and processes.
- Conduct feasibility analyses on customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external customers on project tasks and deliverables.
- Plan, execute, and lead key project activities while mentoring junior engineers.
Qualifications:
- Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Clearance Requirements:
- Active Secret Clearance required.
- Required Experience:
- Proficient in ASIC/FPGA engineering principles, processes, and design techniques.
- Expertise in ASIC/FPGA design tools and methodologies, including simulation and synthesis.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and engineering tools.
- Experience developing, testing, and verifying designs for performance, reliability, and functionality.
- Ability to identify and address design issues, providing innovative and effective solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts, issues, and solutions clearly.
- Proven ability to multi-task and manage priorities in fast-paced environments.
- Preferred Skills:
- Proficient understanding of related disciplines and their impact on ASIC/FPGA development.
- Experience with mentoring and leading technical teams.
- Knowledge of emerging technology trends and their application to design improvements.
