Responsibilities:
- Set up machines, perform light machining, and execute wiring and electrical setup tasks.
- Assemble, repair, modify, and install wire harnesses and avionics components.
- Assist in preparing test articles, fixtures, and data collection devices for testing.
- Perform basic mechanical and electrical prep and verification tasks.
- Use hand and power tools such as drills, torque wrenches, adhesives, and fasteners for both mechanical and electrical tasks.
- Follow proper safety and procedural standards in a hands-on production environment.
- Participate in structured on-the-job training (up to 3–4 weeks, depending on prior experience).
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED and typically 1+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems—formal experience not required but must demonstrate technical aptitude.
- Familiarity with tools and hardware:
- Electrical: wire harnesses, wire stripping, re-pinning, torque tools, shielded wire, power screwdrivers.
- Mechanical: drill guns, drilling hardware, bracket installation.
- Must be hands-on, technically inclined, and eager to learn new processes and techniques.
- Must pass an eye exam (required for electrical-focused roles).
- Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs and qualify to wear a fall protection harness (350 lbs weight restriction including tools).
- Safety gear (glasses, masks) may be required depending on work area.
- Crane certification may be obtained post-start if needed (not required for hire).
