Role Overview:
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a talented Senior Aircraft Technician - Avionics to join our dynamic New Helicopter Completions team in Columbus, MS. This is a unique opportunity to work on the cutting edge of aviation, performing critical assembly, installation, repair, and maintenance of avionics systems for helicopters. Your expertise will directly impact the quality and safety of every aircraft, ensuring they meet the highest standards.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Assembly, Installation, Repair, and Replacement (70): Perform avionics installation, repair, and fabrication tasks on assigned helicopters and aircraft parts. Work from blueprints, sketches, and manuals to meet specifications for dimensions, alignment, and tolerance. Utilize a variety of hand tools, power equipment, and test devices to complete tasks. Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company standards.
Diagnosing Malfunctions and Failures (20): Identify and troubleshoot avionics malfunctions, and determine the corrective actions needed to restore systems to optimal functionality. Perform necessary repairs, adjustments, or replacements to ensure operational specifications are met.
Operational Checks (10): Conduct power-on operational checks of systems such as instruments, radios, navigation, pitot/static systems, and displays. Use test equipment to ensure systems are working correctly and troubleshoot any failures.
Collaborate and Communicate: Work closely with lead technicians, departments, and suppliers to manage materials, supplies, and job schedules. Complete necessary documentation, records, and forms related to the work completed.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
6+ years of experience in avionics on aircraft, preferably rotorcraft
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, diagrams, and technical manuals
Ability to apply standard shop practices for fabrication, repair, and modification of aircraft
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with a focus on avionics systems
Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively in English, both in writing and speaking
Physical ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs, stand, sit, squat, and kneel in various work environments, including exposure to chemicals and fumes
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience with helicopter avionics systems
Experience using test equipment for operational checks of avionics systems
Ability to guide and instruct junior technicians and ensure work meets company and FAA standards

Pay Details: $40.00 to $42.50 per hour
