The Avionics Troubleshooter is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and supporting the installation of advanced avionics systems on corporate aircraft. This role requires strong troubleshooting abilities and hands-on experience with modern avionics platforms, including Garmin and Collins systems, as well as connectivity and flight deck modernization upgrades.
The ideal candidate has experience working in corporate aviation environments and is comfortable supporting avionics installations, modifications, and system upgrades on business aircraft while ensuring all work meets FAA regulations and company quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair avionics systems and electrical components on corporate aircraft.
Perform installation, modification, and upgrades of avionics systems and flight deck equipment.
Support modernization and upgrade programs including WAAS/LPV, FANS 1/A, CPDLC, and flight deck enhancements.
Install and configure avionics equipment including Garmin, Rockwell Collins, and connectivity systems.
Perform system integration, wiring, testing, and operational checks following installation.
Conduct functional tests and troubleshooting on systems such as navigation, communication, autopilot, and cabin connectivity.
Support installation of high-speed data and in-flight Wi-Fi systems including Gogo connectivity solutions.
Interpret wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical manuals to complete installations and repairs.
Perform avionics system testing and ensure proper system functionality prior to return to service.
Document maintenance actions in accordance with FAA regulations and company procedures.
Coordinate with maintenance teams and engineering staff to resolve complex avionics discrepancies.
Requirements Minimum 3 years of avionics experience in corporate or business aviation environments.
Experience troubleshooting and installing avionics systems on corporate aircraft.
Hands-on experience with avionics platforms such as Garmin and Rockwell Collins systems.
Experience with connectivity and modernization upgrades such as Wi-Fi, high-speed data, FANS/CPDLC, or WAAS LPV upgrades preferred.
Familiarity with avionics suites including systems similar to: Garmin G1000 NXi, Garmin G600 TXi / G3X Touch, Garmin GTN Series Navigators, Rockwell Collins Proline 21, Rockwell Collins Fusion
Experience supporting avionics upgrades and installations on corporate aircraft such as King Air, Cessna, Learjet, or similar platforms preferred.
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering drawings.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Ability to work independently or within a team in a fast-paced maintenance environment.
Must have basic tools required for avionics work.
