Technical personnel report to the area Supervisor and have the authority and responsibility for performing maintenance, preventive maintenance and alteration tasks, operational checks and troubleshooting on aircraft avionics and electrical systems using wiring diagrams, installation/maintenance manuals, test equipment and avionics associated toolingas directed and assigned in accordance with the applicable maintenance data and IAR-TS RSM_QCM
Duties and responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, install and repair the following systems:
- Communications systems
- Navigation systems
- FMS/GPS systems
- Fuel Quantity and indicating systems
- Pitot/Static Systems
- Electrical and electrical generating systems, AC/DC, 400 cycle
- Read and understand wiring diagrams, and installation drawings
- Build/Fabricate wiring harnesses
- Work with Air Force TO’s and Lockheed Martin Manuals and other manufacturers' technical data
- Understand and demonstrate ability to requisition parts and components
- Be able to work with avionics connectors and insert/remove pins/sockets
- Accomplish basic, general avionics/electrical installations
- Operate calibrated avionics test equipment for troubleshooting and operational checks/tests
- Carry out assigned tasks, in accordance with the applicable maintenance manual and IAR-TS RSM_QCM.
- Ensure maintenance operations are performed in the appropriate sequence (as determined by the applicable maintenance data), that inspections are requested in an orderly and timely manner, and that maintenance activities are performed according to the appropriate maintenance data and customer requirements.
- Accomplish all other tasks assigned by the Avionics Technician
- Lead or the DOM as required
