zVM Administrator

Job Description:

DPP is seeking a zVM Administrator for an opportunity in Columbia, SC.

Location: Onsite 3 days/week (Tues. – Thurs.) Remote 2 days/week
Duration: 12 months
Terms: W2 position
Work authorization: Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a low-level (Public Trust) US security clearance. USC

Position summary:

The zVM Administrator usually starts the day by checking system health, reviewing logs, monitoring alerts, and ensuring servers and critical services are running smoothly.
By the end of the day, a zVM Admin ensures systems are stable, secure, and ready for whatever workloads come next.
Performs operational support for zVM environment: Work tickets, perform upgrades, participate in disaster recovery exercises.
Team: 2-3 people specific to zVM but part of a larger 14-person team.

Required work experience:

4 years of IT experience including varied programming experience.

Schedule:

Hours: 8am – 5 pm
Overtime, travel, on call, weekends, off hours are required as needed

Required education/equivalencies:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other job-related degree;
OR, Associates degree in CS, IT, or other job-related degree plus 2 years of work-related experience;
OR, 4 years job-related work experience (total 8 years without a degree)
