The Opportunity
The P-8A Poseidon Australia program equips the Royal Australian Air Force with a world-class maritime patrol and reconnaissance capability. This program significantly boosts Australias ability to monitor and protect critical sea lines of communication, deter regional threats, and contribute to multinational maritime security operations.
Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is currently seeking a Systems Administrator to join the P8 team.

- You will be a part of the P8-A Poseidon program, including flight and maintenance simulators, mission support and hardware configuration in a data centre environment.
- Work in a purpose-built facility at RAAF Base Edinburgh, you will be responsible whilst on shift for managing, maintaining and supporting our IT systems and networks. Youll ensure reliability, performance and security of the systems whilst supporting our military customer.
What youll get to do
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and other IT infrastructure components.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
- Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive data and protect against cyber threats.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
- Perform regular backups and disaster recovery operations.
- Work with the customer Identify capabilities, practices and resources to provide effective product support and technical issue resolution.
- Convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Shift work may be required for this role (Early and Late Shift)
Who were looking for
- Demonstrated experience in a complex systems administration role.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.) and server management.
- Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols (CISCO,TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
- Experience with virtualization technologies
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Expereience with Netapp advantageous
- Understanding of cyber security frameworks
