Position Overview
The UX Research & Insights Intern will help execute, analyze and report on user-centered research studies, contribute to United’s employee digital products and advocate for user needs. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to uncover insights that inform design and product decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and conducting qualitative and quantitative user research e.g. interviews, usability testing, surveys, product data.
- Support synthesis of research findings into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Apply your curiosity, asking the right questions and more to uncover key information.
- Collaborate with product management, product design, engineering, and stakeholders.
- Participate in stakeholder meetings and contribute to research presentations
QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- Must be a current undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Psychology, Design, Anthropology, Human-Computer Interaction or related field.
- Strong interest in UX research and user-centered design
- Familiarity with research methods and tools e.g. usability testing, surveys, affinity mapping
- Experience with tools like Figma, UserTesting, Quantum Metric, Google Analytics, or similar is a plus
- Innovative, forward-thinking
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Autonomous and proactive
- High standards and attention to detail
- Good communication skills (interpersonal and written skills)
- Ability to adapt to fast pace and changes
- Position is based in Chicago, IL – must be able to relocate for the duration of the internship
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship now and in the future
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications
- Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position
The starting rate for this role is $20.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education and skills. This position may also be eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
