Portsmouth Naval Shipyard’s (PNS) Customer Support department is responsible for assisting the entire command with collecting/removing DRMO, and delivering/moving/removing printers/computers
The primary tasks within this project are described in the following bullets.
- Maintain an Excel spreadsheet of DRMOed equipment.
- Accurately document each piece of equipment with the required information.
- Print out and attach documents to the equipment.
- Stack equipment on a pallet, attach metal straps and shrink wrap it.
- Bring pallets down to the loading dock using a hand jack lift.
- Coordinate/schedule a transport truck for the DRMO being shipped out.
- Properly dispose of 8mm tapes, cassette tapes, USB sticks, RAM and hard drives using the PNS degausser.
- Accurately complete the required paperwork for tracking the disposed of media.
- Deliver and install a printer/copier in a newly requested location throughout the PNS.
- Move a printer/copier to a newly requested location throughout the PNS.
- Remove a printer/copier from customer locations throughout the PNS.
- Fix hardware issues with printers/copiers/scanners such as paper jams and replacement of consumable parts such as toner and ink.
- Deliver/move/remove computers at various locations throughout the PNS.
- Remove hard drives from computers and prepare any associated paperwork required for the proper disposal of the computer.
- Assist with inventory tracking by periodically counting the IT equipment in our storage areas and updating the Inventory tracking excel spreadsheet with the results.
