Job Summary
Evaluate health/safety programs to recognize, eliminate, evaluate and control occupational health/safety hazards or environmental factors or stresses arising in or from the workplace or facility that may cause injury, sickness, impaired health or well-being, or significant discomfort and inefficiency among workers. Be knowledgeable with the following EH&S requirements, including but not limited to; air/SCAQMD, chemical hygiene, COVID-19, cranes, CUPA, electrical, DTSC requirements, engineering controls, EPA permits & requirements, fire, hazardous waste, HAZCOM, industrial trucks, LASERs, Lock-Out/Tag-Out, Noise, PPE, RF non-ionizing radiation, SDS management, storm water, universal waste, etc.
Job Description
Participate in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections and in any procedures that may follow a citation.
Investigate, prepare, and forward as required reports on injuries.
Conduct safe work procedures training courses.
Prepare rules, standards, and procedures as necessary to promote the safe and healthful conduct of all work practices.
Assist supervision in educating employees on practices, precautions, and procedures established to minimize health and safety outcomes.
Audit programs and conditions at all facilities; provides written reports of findings with recommendations for improvement (where needed); and follows up on implementation.
Facilitate, plan, conduct and support internal and external environmental safety and health (EH&S) audits.
Perform regular safety inspections at production locations, at least monthly.
Support internal and external ISO 9001/AS9100 compliance and systems audits.
Perform gap analysis to ensure compliance to industry, aerospace, defense standards, and contractual requirements.
Ensure all documents are prepared in accordance with contract requirements, department standards, and guidelines.
